Despite what Conor McGregor says, Rafael dos Anjos' management wants everyone to know that the champion's injury is legitimate and that he'll be back training soon.

After a reported broken foot knocked Dos Anjos out of the main event of UFC 196, McGregor claimed that Dos Anjos was dealing with a mere bruise but was looking for a way out of their fight.

Dos Anjos' manager, Ali Abdel-Aziz, posted an image on his private Instagram account Tuesday updating the status of his client's injury:

"When you have a bruise you don't have a cast on," Abdel-Aziz wrote in the accompanying message. "One thing I can tell you: Conor was relieved when he found out Rafael dos Anjos was injured and I really mean it. This is not trash-talking, I truly mean it."

Abdel-Aziz told Damon Martin of FOX Sports that Dos Anjos will need about eight weeks to heal before returning to his regular training schedule.

The status of Dos Anjos' title defense against McGregor remains up in the air after the cancellation. McGregor is set to face replacement Nate Diaz in a welterweight fight at UFC 196 on Saturday.
