The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency officially handed Gleison Tibau a two-year suspension for multiple failed drug tests, in which he tested positive for erythropoietin, a synthetic hormone used to stimulate the body’s production of red blood cells.

The suspension means Tibau won't be able to fight until Nov. 7, 2017, as his ineligibility began exactly two years prior to that date.

Tibau has said he's decided not to appeal the sanction.

Tibau will also have the outcome of his last fight - a win against Abel Trujillo - reversed because the first positive sample was taken before that bout.
