Jon Jones inks sponsorship deal with sports nutrition company GAT

It appears companies are starting to warm up to Jon Jones.

After losing all of his sponsors - including an exclusive pact with apparel giant Reebok - following a hit-and-run arrest in April, the former UFC light heavyweight champion has inked a deal with sports nutrition company GAT.

"I am very grateful to have such a terrific brand like GAT sponsor me as one of their athletes," Jones said in a press release, according to MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani. "I look forward to working with TEAMGAT and to taking the GAT brand with me in becoming the number one name in MMA."

According to GAT Vice President Mark Post, the company is excited to expand into MMA and be represented by the returning pound-for-pound great.

"I was thrilled when (Jones' manager) Malki Kawa called me to discuss TEAMGAT expanding to include MMA athletes and signing Jon Jones as our first," Post said. "I’ve been a fan of his since he entered the sport. Everyone at GAT is excited about signing Jon. The whole world will be watching when he gets back into action. TEAMGAT will be proud to be in his corner."

Recently reinstated to the UFC's active roster, Jones is expected to vie for the title against Daniel Cormier at some point in early 2016.
