CM Punk says he 'got rocked' during a Roufusport scrimmage
CM Punk will eventually fight in the UFC, he just has no idea when, where, or against whom.
The former WWE superstar, who traded scripted storylines for armbars and liver kicks, is training diligently with the killers at Roufusport in Milwaukee, and even moved to the city to maximize his time in the gym.
Targeting an Octagon debut in December (though he may wait until 2016), Punk has engaged in "scrimmages" at Roufusport.
"Recently we did ... I think (head coach) Duke (Roufus) likes to call them scrimmages," Punk told MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani. "And essentially in my mind what they are is amateur fights. And what we did last time, because Duke thought my striking was developing more rapidly than everything else, he wanted to see strictly my striking. So I wound up fighting somebody, just stand up. So it was basically a kickboxing match.
"I got rocked pretty hard."
Although Punk wasn't knocked out by the heavy shot, he admitted he likely would have been behind on the scorecards.
"I didn't get knocked out. I will gladly offer up the information that I would have lost by judges' decision, but I hung in there."
