USADA's banishment of IVs could make Cyborg's bantamweight cut difficult

It appears the MMA gods don't want to gift us with the wondrous matchup that would be Ronda Rousey versus Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino.

Justino, a massive featherweight, would no doubt struggle to cut to 135 pounds (a requirement if she wants to face Rousey), and the USADA's upcoming banishment of fighters rehydrating intravenously following their battle with the scales would make Cyborg's cut that much more difficult.

"I already have a lot of problems about cutting weight, dieting and a lot of things," Cyborg said at Invicta FC media day, according to MMAFighting.com's Marc Raimondi. "It's not healthy what we do. Drop to 135? And be healthy? OK, of course."

Working with famed nutritionist George Lockhart, Justino is looking to safely drop to bantamweight at some point this year, though she admits a bout with Rousey at a 140-pound catchweight would be ideal

"I think it would be perfect at 140," said Justino. "I'll try my best (to make 135). I'll try 100 percent, I'll try for all my fans to make this fight happen and I know I can sleep (at night) and say I did my 100 percent to make this fight happen."

Rousey has laid waste to the UFC's women's bantamweight division since becoming the inaugural champion in 2013, and Cyborg is widely seen as the only legitimate threat to the former Olympian's throne.

"I think everybody want to watch this fight," Justino said. "I think it's very important for women's MMA. I want to be part of this. The first very important fight was with Gina Carano, and I'm very happy about this. Would I be happy about this fight (with Rousey)? Of course, I want it. I want to finish my career by having a big deal. I fight Ronda Rousey, I fight two big events. I helped grow up women's MMA."
