Machida, Romero make weight ahead of UFC Fight Night 70
Lyoto Machida and Yoel Romero made weight on Friday in anticipation of their middleweight showdown at UFC Fight Night 70 on Saturday night.
Coming off a lopsided loss to No. 1 contender Luke Rockhold, Machida will look to keep himself deeply entrenched in the 185-pound title picture with a win over Romero, who could potentially vault himself into contention with a stirring victory over "The Dragon."
UFC newcomer Luis Gonzalez was the only fighter to miss weight, tipping the scales 3 pounds too heavy for the 171-pound welterweight limit. He was given two hours to shed the extra poundage.
