UFC Fight Night 69: Jedrzejczyk dominates Penne to retain strawweight title
In the end, it wasn't even close.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk had little trouble retaining her strawweight title Saturday, as she easily handled Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night 69 in Berlin, Germany. Jedrzejczyk pummeled Penne throughout the bout, forcing the official to stop the fight at 4:22 of the third round.
After a failed attempt by Penne early in the first round to take her opponent to the ground, Jedrzejczyk took over from there. She knocked Penne to the ground with a stiff right hand and despite finding a way to get back to her feet, the challenger never really threatened again.
Penne's nose was likely broken after taking several strikes to the face, as she tried unsuccessfully to do anything to slow down the champion. Jedrzejczyk dominated from a standing position and Penne simply had no answer for her striking ability.
With the victory, Jedrzejczyk remains undefeated, moving to 10-0. The loss drops Penne to 12-4.
