Mark Hunt apologizes to team for Miocic loss, claims he's seen the Devil
Mark "The Super Samoan" Hunt is still lamenting his loss to Stipe Miocic at UFC Fight Night 65 in May.
"It was like a one-sided beating all the way through," he admitted Sunday on Submission radio.
The 41-year-old's face was the recipient of a knuckling beatdown by Miocic, who inadvertently broke the record for the most strikes landed in a single UFC fight with 361.
The Super Samoan is sorry for his loss, though, and is making changes to ensure he can remain competitive among the UFC's heavyweight division.
"I wasted my whole camp and I can't apologize enough to my team and all the guys that were with me," he said.
The Kiwi also confirmed he wants to shed some extra pounds, setting a targeted weight of about 245 pounds.
"I normally sit around close to 140 (kilograms) on my off time. So right now I'm trying to bring my fat arse back to 110-115 (kilograms) so I can actually compete with these guys."
Hunt was also questioned about an upcoming book he is releasing in September. When he was asked to share a teaser of it, Hunt chose to tell about his experience of seeing the physical embodiment of death, while visiting his ailing parents in the hospital as a child.
"Out of the corner of my eye, I saw this really crazy, this huge, 20-feet tall, I don't know what it was," he said. "It was huge, 20-feet tall and it was hooded and it was holding something. The feeling I got from it was, 'Wow, that thing is crazy.'"
When asked what he believed it was, the fighter was blunt.
"I think it was the Devil."
