Chad Mendes on Conor McGregor: 'I'm gonna whip that dude's a** next'

Should Chad Mendes topple Brazilian buzzsaw Jose Aldo and claim the UFC featherweight championship, he already has plans for his first title defense.

"It is not frustrating that he is going to be here," Mendes, as relayed by Karim Zidan of SB Nation, told reporters of featherweight contender Conor McGregor, who is going to be in Brazil to watch UFC 179. "It is expected. The guy has a huge hype train. He is talking his way up to the top. He can sit there and watch – I am gonna get in there and win and then I'm gonna whip that dude's a** next."

McGregor is set to exchange leather with Dennis Siver on Jan. 18, with a win likely landing him next in line to face the winner of Aldo/Mendes.

Before he can even think about silencing the cocky Irishman, Mendes will have to exorcise this demon on Saturday night:
