UFC announces shows in Ireland, Germany, possibly Scotland

UFC executive vice president and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) managing director Garry Cook confirmed Thursday that the promotion will hold it's second show in Dublin, Ireland (UFC Fight Night) on July 19, and are hoping to have a show in Glasgow, Scotland sometime in 2015.

And it's rumored the event already has a headliner.

While it's logical to have the hometown hero McGregor (14-2) on the card, it seems questionable to have someone with just two UFC fights against unaccomplished fighters in the main event — especially against Miller (21-8), who has 16 UFC fights under his belt, including four which earned him "submission of the night" bonuses.

The promotion also confirmed that another UFC Fight Night would take place in Berlin on May 31 — the same day Chael Sonnen is scheduled to fight Wanderlei Silva in Brazil.

Germany has had a love-hate relationship with the UFC, with minors being banned from the first event (UFC 99 on June 13, 2009), before the sport was banned from German broadcasts entirely in March 2010. Despite the ban, UFC 122 was still held in Oberhausen, Germany in November of that year, but hasn't returned since.

Two days before Alexander Gustafsson and Jimi Manuwa are scheduled to face off at the O2 Arena, the UFC announced they will be returning to London next year as well.
