Gane-Volkov 2 rebooked for UFC 310 in December
The rematch between Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov has been rescheduled for UFC 310 on Dec. 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the promotion announced Friday.
The heavyweight contenders were originally set to square off at UFC 308 on Oct. 26 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, but Volkov withdrew earlier this week due to a knee injury.
Gane defeated Volkov via unanimous decision in a UFC Fight Night main event in 2021.
Gane is coming off a TKO win over Serghei Spivac in the UFC Paris main event in September 2023. The former interim champion is 2-2 in his last four bouts. Gane is ranked No. 2 in the division.
Volkov pulled off an upset against Sergei Pavlovich at UFC Saudi Arabia in June to reach the No. 3 position at heavyweight and get back into title contention. "Drago" is riding a four-fight winning streak and hasn't lost since facing current interim champ Tom Aspinall in March 2022.
UFC 310 doesn't have a main event yet, but the card will also feature a light heavyweight bout between Anthony Smith and Dominick Reyes and a strawweight title eliminator between Tatiana Suarez and Virna Jandiroba.
