Report: Brady-Luque main event scrapped from UFC Atlantic City
The welterweight bout between Sean Brady and Vicente Luque, which was slated as the main event for UFC Atlantic City on March 30, is no longer happening, sources told MMA Junkie's Nolan King, Mike Bohn, and Farah Hannoun.
UFC CEO Dana White announced the fight earlier in January, but Brady reportedly never signed a bout agreement and isn't able to face Luque due to an injury.
It's unclear whether Luque will get a new opponent for the card.
Brady made a triumphant return to the Octagon at UFC Austin in December, dominating longtime contender Kelvin Gastelum en route to a third-round submission victory. The Philadelphia native got back on track after suffering his first career defeat to Belal Muhammad in October 2022. Brady holds a 6-1 record in the promotion.
Luque is coming off a unanimous decision win over former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in a UFC Fight Night main event last August. The Brazilian snapped a two-fight skid with the victory.
As it stands right now, UFC Atlantic City, which will take place at Boardwalk Hall, features a pivotal women's flyweight matchup between Erin Blanchfield and Manon Fiorot.
