Blanchfield-Fiorot booked for UFC Atlantic City
A massive fight in the women's flyweight division is set for UFC Atlantic City.
No. 2 contender Erin Blanchfield will take on No. 3 Manon Fiorot on March 30 at Boardwalk Hall in New Jersey, UFC CEO Dana White announced Thursday night.
The new booking all but confirms 125-pound champion Alexa Grasso will complete her trilogy with former champ Valentina Shevchenko next. However, the winner between Blanchfield and Fiorot will be in prime position for a title shot sometime in 2024.
Blanchfield is still just 24 years old and already one of the UFC's top women's fighters. The New Jersey native is coming off a unanimous decision win over former title challenger Taila Santos, which improved her Octagon record to 6-0. Blanchfield beat former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade via second-round submission earlier in 2023.
Fiorot is also undefeated in the promotion at 6-0. The French fighter is coming off a unanimous decision win over former 115-pound titleholder Rose Namajunas in the UFC Paris co-main event in September. Fiorot, 33, has also beaten Katlyn Chookagian, Jennifer Maia, and Mayra Bueno Silva, the latter of whom fights for the vacant women's bantamweight title in January.
A main event for UFC Atlantic City hasn't been announced yet.
