Jon Jones wants a piece of Stipe Miocic before the year is out.

The former light heavyweight champion called out Miocic on Twitter on Thursday amid rumors they could be set to clash in Jones' long-awaited heavyweight debut.

The UFC reportedly has been in talks with Jones about booking a fight to serve as the main event of UFC 282, the final pay-per-view of the year, on Dec. 10 in Las Vegas.

Although the promotion reportedly preferred a matchup with heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, his contract issues and rehab from knee surgery have apparently made them turn to Miocic, whom Ngannou beat to earn his belt.

Jones tweeted Tuesday that he's unsure why a fight with Miocic hasn't been completed.

Jones hasn't stepped inside the Octagon since defending his 205-pound belt against Dominick Reyes in February 2020. The 35-year-old initially said he expected to make the move to heavyweight in 2021, but a financial dispute with the UFC delayed his debut.

Miocic, meanwhile, has only fought three times in the last three years - the rematch loss to Ngannou in March 2021 and his second and third bouts with Daniel Cormier in August 2019 and August 2020, respectively.

A light heavyweight title rematch between champion Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira is currently set to top UFC 282.
