Holland-Daukaus ruled no-contest after clash of heads leads to submission

The UFC Fight Night co-main event was ruled a no-contest Saturday after a clash of heads led to Kyle Daukaus tapping out Kevin Holland with a submission.

Holland and Daukaus' heads connected in the first round, effectively knocking out the former before he recovered and began fighting back.

Shortly thereafter, Daukaus took control of Holland's back and used a rear-naked choke to force him to tap.

Referee Dan Miragliotta consulted with Nevada commission members, fellow referee Herb Dean, and UFC vice president of regulatory affairs Marc Ratner while cage-side. Miragliotta ultimately decided to declare the fight a no-contest, seemingly because the clash of heads influenced the outcome of the fight.
