Sean Strickland is headed to the top 10 in the UFC middleweight division after scoring the biggest win of his career Saturday night.

Strickland defeated Uriah Hall via unanimous decision (50-44, 50-45, 49-46) in the UFC Fight Night main event in Las Vegas.

The 30-year-old entered the bout as the 11th-ranked middleweight, while Hall was inside the top 10 at No. 8.

Strickland recorded a dominant victory in his first UFC headliner. His crisp boxing, volume, and pressure proved to be too much for Hall. Strickland hurt his opponent on multiple occasions, including in the third round when he nearly scored a finish.

Strickland has now won five bouts in a row and could warrant a top-five opponent in his next outing.

Hall, a longtime 185-pound contender who's been in the UFC since 2013, saw his four-fight winning streak come to an end. The 37-year-old entered Saturday's clash coming off stoppage victories over former champions Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva.
