The UFC's next pay-per-view event is down a marquee matchup.

Kevin Lee has withdrawn from his welterweight bout against Sean Brady at UFC 264 on July 10 after suffering a rib injury, he told MMA reporter Ariel Helwani on Thursday.

Lee said he hopes to fight Brady at the UFC 265 card on Aug. 7.

Brady wrote in an Instagram post that he also wants to reschedule the fight with Lee for August.

Lee, a former interim lightweight title challenger, would have stepped into the Octagon for the first time since a submission loss to current 155-pound champion Charles Oliveira in March 2020. He's been sidelined due to multiple knee surgeries.

"The Motown Phenom" was also set to return to the welterweight division after competing at lightweight for most of his UFC career.

Brady is undefeated as a professional at 14-0 and holds a 4-0 record inside the Octagon. Most recently, the 28-year-old submitted Jake Matthews at UFC 259 in March.

A lightweight trilogy bout between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor is slated to headline UFC 264 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
