The MMA community will have to wait a little longer for TJ Dillashaw's return to the Octagon.
The UFC bantamweight announced Tuesday night on Instagram that he'll have to withdraw from his May 8 fight with Cory Sandhagen after suffering a gash above his eye during sparring.
Dillashaw said he is rescheduling the fight as soon as possible.
The former bantamweight champion served a two-year suspension for using EPO. Dillashaw last fought in January 2019.
Sandhagen is ranked No. 2 in the division behind titleholder Aljamain Sterling and former champ Petr Yan. The bout would have headlined the May 8 Fight Night event.
