Till breaks collarbone, out of April 10 main event vs. Vettori
No. 5 middleweight contender Darren Till broke his collarbone in training and is out of his UFC Fight Night headliner versus Marvin Vettori on April 10, he confirmed via Instagram.
Kevin Holland offered to step in as a replacement and is waiting for Vettori's camp to accept the matchup, according to ESPN's Ariel Helwani. Holland dropped a unanimous decision to Derek Brunson on March 20.
Till and Vettori were scheduled to battle with a shot at the middleweight championship potentially hanging in the balance.
Till, who's been bogged down by injuries in recent months, last fought Robert Whittaker in July 2020, losing via unanimous decision. He underwent knee surgery following the bout, then broke his foot later in the year.
Vettori is riding a four-fight win streak, highlighted by his upset victory over Jack Hermansson in December. Hermansson was expected to challenge Israel Adesanya for the middleweight belt had he gotten past Vettori.
