A matchup between UFC newcomer Michael Chandler and sixth-ranked lightweight Dan Hooker has been added to the UFC 257 card, reports ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
Chandler, a former Bellator champion, signed with the UFC in September, and this will mark his first bout with the promotion. The 34-year-old owns a career 21-5 record.
Hooker represents a stiff first test in the UFC. "The Hangman" is 20-9 and has won seven of his last nine bouts. He lost by unanimous decision to Dustin Poirier in June.
UFC 257 takes place Jan. 23 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In the main event, former two-division champion Conor McGregor will meet Poirier in a lightweight rematch.
