White will 'absolutely' book Figueiredo-Moreno rematch in 2021
UFC president Dana White wants Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno to run it back in 2021.
The two flyweights engaged in a "Fight of the Year" candidate in Saturday's UFC 256 main event, with Figueiredo retaining the 125-pound championship via majority draw.
White said at the postfight press conference that he plans to book a rematch at some point next year.
"We've got to give these guys some time off, but you absolutely, positively do that rematch," White said, according to MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn and John Morgan. "That's another fun fight for us all to look forward to in 2021."
Figueiredo and Moreno competed three weeks ago at UFC 255. The champion submitted Alex Perez in his first title defense, and "The Assassin Baby" picked up a TKO win over Brandon Royval.
Hours after the event wrapped up, they were booked for Dec. 12, which marked the quickest turnaround ever for a UFC title bout.
