Overeem, Volkov to headline UFC Fight Night on Feb. 6
A heavyweight battle between Alistair Overeem and Alexander Volkov is scheduled to headline UFC Fight Night on Feb. 6, the promotion's president, Dana White, told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
The bout will see two of the most active UFC heavyweights go toe-to-toe. Overeem (47-18) previously acknowledged that he will make one final run at the promotion's heavyweight championship before retiring.
The MMA legend is coming off two straight victories in 2020, most recently a fifth-round TKO of Augusto Sakai in September.
Meanwhile, Volkov has traded defeats and victories over his last four bouts. "Drago" earned a TKO win over Walt Harris at UFC 254.
Overeem and Volkov are the promotion's fifth- and sixth-ranked heavyweights, respectively.
The UFC has yet to announce a location for the event.
