In a battle of heavyweight contenders, Jairzinho Rozenstruik finished Junior dos Santos via TKO at 3:47 of the second round at UFC 252 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Rozenstruik had a slow start to the fight. He landed a couple of leg kicks against the former champion, but Dos Santos was the busier fighter overall, connecting with a few shots. Rozenstruik looked to counter against Dos Santos, but the 32-year-old struggled to find any openings.

However, Rozenstruik proved in the second round that it only takes one shot to change the outcome of a bout. He pressured Dos Santos and landed a vicious right hand that crumpled the Brazilian. Rozenstruik followed up with brutal ground-and-pound shots, and as Dos Santos started to return to his feet, Rozenstruik landed another punch that put the 36-year-old down for good.

With the victory, Rozenstruik rebounded from a quick knockout loss to Francis Ngannou at UFC 249 in May. He's now 5-1 in the promotion after making his Octagon debut in 2019.

Dos Santos has now lost three straight bouts in the first skid of his pro career. He entered his fight against Rozenstruik coming off stoppage losses to Ngannou and Curtis Blaydes.
