Paige VanZant pulled out of her strawweight bout against Amanda Ribas at UFC Brasilia on March 14, the promotion announced Thursday evening. Ribas will now take on Randa Markos.

VanZant revealed Friday that she was forced off the card due to yet another arm fracture.

"My story is break your arm three times, keep fighting four," VanZant wrote on Instagram.

VanZant first broke her right arm in a January 2018 bout against Jessica-Rose Clark, which she lost by decision. She's undergone multiple operations since then, but either her arm hasn't healed properly or she's re-injured it.

"This is the second time I broke through a screw hole where my plate in my arm is, third break in a third spot," VanZant wrote. "I know I need to adjust my training now that I have a permanent plate and screws in there. I will make those adjustments and I will return successfully just as I have before."

VanZant added that the latest "very small" fracture will heal in six-to-eight weeks, according to her doctor, and that she'll be ready to fight again in May.

The 25-year-old has only competed once since the Clark bout, defeating Rachael Ostovich via second-round submission in January 2019.
