Edgar: 'No regrets' taking 'Korean Zombie' fight
Frankie Edgar doesn't regret fighting Chan Sung Jung on short notice in the UFC Busan main event on Dec. 21.
The former UFC lightweight champion stepped up against "The Korean Zombie" on about two weeks' notice after Brian Ortega suffered an injury. Edgar lost the fight in South Korea by first-round TKO.
"It was something I did," Edgar told MMA Fighting's Damon Martin. "You can't go back and dwell on shit you can't change, anyways. No regrets for me.
"Obviously I wanted a different outcome, but I took the opportunity. It didn't go my way. Shit happens, but those are the breaks. I was definitely depressed for a little bit, a little down on myself, but you move on. What else are you going to do?"
"The Answer" was expected to make his bantamweight debut before getting the call to fight Jung at featherweight. He was booked against Cory Sandhagen at UFC Raleigh on Jan. 25 but that fight has since been canceled.
Edgar, 38, said his next fight will be at 135 pounds.
