UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov isn't sold on the idea of a Conor McGregor rematch if they both win their next fights.

UFC president Dana White said earlier this week that McGregor will likely fight the winner of Nurmagomedov versus Tony Ferguson if he emerges victorious out of his UFC 246 pairing with Donald Cerrone.

"I'm surprised that Dana White is saying that if Conor beats Cerrone and I beat Tony Ferguson, there will be a rematch," Nurmagomedov said at a recent media event (via RT Sport). "I decide who I'm going to fight next. To fight me, (McGregor) has to cut weight first, down to 70 kilograms (154 pounds), and win 10 fights in a row like I did. Then we'll think about a rematch."

McGregor is scheduled to headline the Jan. 18, 2020, pay-per-view card against Cerrone in his first fight since October 2018, when Nurmagomedov submitted him in a 155-pound title fight. McGregor and Cerrone's bout is set for the welterweight division, where the Irishman has competed twice before.

When asked who he thinks will win the 170-pound bout, Nurmagomedov said: "I think Cerrone (has) lost seven or eight of his last 10 fights. The other one's going into his fourth year of no victories. It's like the minor leagues - it doesn't really matter who wins there."

McGregor hasn't won a fight since November 2016, when he defeated Eddie Alvarez for the UFC lightweight title.

Cerrone, who's coming off a loss to Justin Gaethje, is 4-6 in his last 10 outings.
