Paul Felder vs. Dan Hooker set for UFC Auckland main event

Paul Felder is set to meet Dan Hooker in the UFC Auckland main event on Feb. 23 at Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, promotion officials announced Wednesday.

Felder, the No. 6 lightweight, has won two in a row. In his last fight, he defeated Edson Barboza by a narrow split decision at UFC 242 in September.

Hooker, the No. 7 lightweight, has also won two straight. Most recently, "The Hangman" defeated Al Iaquinta by unanimous decision at UFC 243 in October. Hooker is an Auckland native.

The matchup has been a long time coming. After an April 2018 win, Hooker called Felder out while Felder, who served as a commentator for the event, was interviewing him in the Octagon. Felder expressed interest in the bout on social media after Hooker's win in October.
