The California Kid hadn't fought since December 2016. The Sacramento crowd was firmly behind him, and Faber didn't disappoint.
The Hall of Famer earned the fastest finish of his career, and he did it as a 40-year-old. T.J. Dillashaw is the only bantamweight with more UFC wins.
"I saw his big dome and his weird haircut coming at me, and I was like, 'Alright, it's time to take this dude's head off,'" Faber said after the fight.
Faber also called out bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo, though he likely has more work to do before earning a title shot.
