Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvarez will make their second ONE Championship appearances in August, the promotion announced on Monday.

The two former UFC champions will compete at ONE Championship 99: Dawn of Heroes on Aug. 2 at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

Johnson will look to get past Tatsumitsu Wada and advance to the flyweight grand prix final. If victorious, he'll face the winner of the Kairat Akhmetov-Danny Kingad fight, which is also set for the August event.

Meanwhile, Alvarez faces another tough opponent after Timofey Nastyukhin shocked him via first-round TKO in Tokyo to end his debut. His opponent, Eduard Folayang, lost the ONE lightweight title on the same card.

After his surprising defeat, Alvarez apologized for his performance on Instagram, posting photos of his injured eye and writing that Nastyukhin's punch "instantly blinded me and split both eyelids in half. It felt like my eye exploded from the inside."

The main event on Aug. 2 will be a highly anticipated bout for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title between champion Jonathan Haggerty and Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
