If we've truly seen the last of Conor McGregor in the Octagon, it's been one hell of a ride.

The brash Irishman rose to international fame, becoming the first simultaneous UFC champion in two weight classes along the way.

Here are the 10 wildest moments from McGregor's career:

KO of Aldo in 13 seconds

McGregor made his UFC debut in 2013 and proceeded to run through his first six opponents, finishing five of them via TKO.

In December 2015, he faced featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 194 and knocked out the 145-pound king in mere seconds. It was McGregor's first taste of UFC gold.

McGregor-Diaz I

When a title fight against Rafael dos Anjos fell through, McGregor moved up two weight classes to challenge Nate Diaz at UFC 196.

McGregor succumbed in the second round to a rear-naked choke, but the result led to a much-anticipated rematch the following year.

UFC 202 press conference

The Nevada State Athletic Commission fined McGregor $25,000 and forced him to complete 25 hours of community service after he hurled water bottles and energy drinks at Diaz during the UFC 202 press conference

McGregor-Diaz II

McGregor-Diaz II was a bloody, five-round war widely regarded as one of the best fights in recent memory, and the UFC named it the greatest bout in the promotion's history.

The two bitter rivals have hinted at a third meeting ever since their August 2016 affair.

'Who the f--- is that guy?'

McGregor turned his attention to the lightweight division later in 2016, and he was booked to fight Eddie Alvarez for his belt.

At the UFC 205 press conference, the Hall of Fame-level trash talker laid down his best line on poor Jeremy Stephens.

Becoming the 'champ champ' at UFC 205

In a nearly flawless performance, McGregor TKO'd Alvarez three minutes into the second round to claim a second belt, later coining the term "champ champ."

Mayweather-McGregor

At the height of his popularity in MMA, McGregor managed to convince everyone he could pose a challenge to undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather.

The pair went into the ring in August 2017, laughing all the way to the bank afterward. Mayweather earned $275 million, according to Forbes, while McGregor walked away with roughly $85 million.

Ref shove at Bellator 187

Back in the world of MMA, McGregor stormed the cage to celebrate a teammate's victory at Bellator 107 in November 2017, only to get into it with referee Marc Goddard.

UFC Brooklyn bus attack

In April 2018, McGregor was charged with assault and criminal mischief after throwing a dolly through a window of a bus filled with UFC fighters and employees while attempting to get at rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

He eventually pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and avoided jail time. But the incident set up a high-profile title fight against Nurmagomedov.

Melee after loss at UFC 229

McGregor submitted to a neck crank during the fourth round against Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. After the fight, Nurmagomedov hopped out of the cage to attack members of his foe's corner.

As a brawl erupted outside the Octagon, McGregor took punches from men who jumped the fence. The incident is the last we've seen of McGregor in competition.

He has a number of potential opponents lined up, but for now, McGregor is opting to retire.
