Donald Cerrone and Al Iaquinta have verbally agreed to square off in the main event of UFC Ottawa on May 4, according to ESPN's Ariel Helwani.
The agreement comes after the UFC unsuccessfully tried to book Cerrone against either Conor McGregor or Nate Diaz, Helwani adds.
Cerrone, who's coming off a win over Alexander Hernandez in January, previously said he'd be back in the Octagon by July 6, even if his next fight isn't against McGregor.
The 35-year-old will take on the fourth-ranked lightweight contender. Iaquinta has won six of his last seven fights, with his lone defeat over that span coming at the hands of Khabib Nurmagomedov.
