White calls Cejudo-Dillashaw stoppage 'horrible'

UFC president Dana White supports TJ Dillashaw's assertion that the referee stepped in far too early during his loss to Henry Cejudo in the main event of the UFC Brooklyn card Saturday night.

Dillashaw came under a barrage of strikes from the flyweight champion and ultimately lost via TKO at 32 seconds.

"I thought it was an early stoppage, too," White said at the postfight press conference.

"You've got two of the best guys in the world, two world champions in a superfight. Let them fight. Let 'em fight, let 'em finish. And I'm not taking anything away from Cejudo cause the fight went 20 seconds and Cejudo busted him up."

"Horrible stoppage," White added.

Kevin MacDonald refereed the fight, and White said he'd prefer for a more experienced official in that spot rather than a local one.

Dillashaw, the bantamweight division champion, still wasn't ready to concede defeat after the fight.

"If I'm going to lose, I want to lose. Congratulations, Henry Cejudo. Awesome. Great job, man. But you did not win, you did not win this fight. I am happy to accept defeat, but I did not lose," he said.

"This s--- needs to happen again, at flyweight."
