Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone hinted that Conor McGregor is his next opponent in an Instagram post on Tuesday, writing that he's "just waiting on him" alongside pictures of him and the Irishman.

After making UFC history Saturday by becoming the promotion's all-time leader in wins and finishes, the veteran fighter teased that a big fight was on the cards for his next trip into the Octagon.

"There is someone, they already came up and told me," said a smiling Cerrone, according to Stephen Larkin of the Irish Mirror. "There's your clickbait. They told me the who for once in my life first. 155. It's very exciting. Guy's very exciting. You'll like it. You’ll all like it."

Many assumed McGregor's next fight would either be a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov - which the Irishman immediately called for following his UFC 229 defeat - or against the other top 155-pound contender in Tony Ferguson.
