It doesn't seem like Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa are destined to step into the Octagon together.

For the second time, a planned fight between the two middleweights has been scrapped due to injury. Costa has gone down this time, sources told ESPN's Ariel Helwani.

The UFC originally announced the two would face off on Nov. 3 at Madison Square Garden, but Romero wasn't cleared after suffering an orbital bone injury.

The promotion then reportedly hoped to book the fight for the main event of its Jan. 19 card in Brooklyn, but Costa withdrew due to a minor injury.

While Costa aims to return in March and fight Romero, his opponent wants to remain on the Brooklyn card and square off with Anderson Silva, added Helwani.
