It appears Georges St-Pierre is returning to the Octagon in 2019.

The former welterweight and middleweight champion told ESPN's Ariel Helwani that there's a "big chance" he'll fight in the UFC next year.

St-Pierre also told Helwani that he's targeting early 2019 for a potential return, and that lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov would be the most interesting opponent, via TSN's Aaron Bronsteter.

The 37-year-old doesn't believe the UFC would want him to fight for the lightweight title due to the threat of St-Pierre leaving the promotion again, he told Helwani, again per Bronsteter, adding that he's not motivated to win a championship and defend it multiple times.

St-Pierre's last fight came in November 2017 when he defeated Michael Bisping via submission for the middleweight championship. He was forced to vacate the title 34 days later after being diagnosed with colitis.
