Miocic seethes over Lesnar's presence in title picture

The moment Brock Lesnar barged into the Octagon at UFC 226, Stipe Miocic was pushed to the background. And he's not OK with it.

The former UFC heavyweight champion believes he's owed a rematch after losing his belt to Daniel Cormier, and he's not about to watch Lesnar jump the queue to get ahead of him.

"I thought they were going to interview me (after the fight) and I was going to ask for a rematch. When Brock came in, I said, 'I'm out of here, I don't need this circus,'" Miocic told ESPN.

"How can you give a guy a title shot who hasn't fought in over two years, is suspended, and his last fight is a no-contest because he was taking PEDs?"

Cormier called out Lesnar, who hasn't fought in the promotion since July 2016 due to a positive drug test, after his TKO victory over Miocic. Lesnar responded by shoving Cormier in the chest, which prompted UFC president Dana White to announce he would work on making that fight happen.

Lesnar has six months remaining on his USADA suspension.

"(Lesnar) hasn't fought in how long? For him to get a title shot, as I get thrown to the side, it just seems like they are desperate for pay-per-views," Miocic said.

Miocic set a heavyweight record in January by recording three straight title defenses before his loss to Cormier. He believes he's owed a level of respect from the UFC.

"I cleaned out the division. I defended (the belt) more than anyone, and you're gonna tell me I don't deserve a chance to get it back? Get out of here," Miocic said. "Kiss my ass if you don't think I deserve that."
