Mike Trizano took down Joe Giannetti via split decision in a cagey bout to earn the title of lightweight winner of "The Ultimate Fighter 27."

Giannetti took control of the first, pinning Trizano against the cage and then taking him to the ground for the rest of the round.

But Trizano answered with a stronger performance in the second. He showed off his grappling skills by taking control of Giannetti throughout the round, though it did lead to some awkward positions:

Trizano was the aggressor in the final round, propelling himself to victory and earning a UFC contract.
