Cage Warriors 93's headliners left it all in Sweden on Saturday.

Slick striker Carlo Pedersoli Jr. survived a late rally from the always-game ex-CW champ Nicolas Dalby to claim a split decision in the bill's welterweight headliner in Gothenburg, improving to 10-1 as a pro and extending his win streak to seven.

After a closely contested first round that saw Pedersoli maintain distance and score with a variety of kicks while Dalby sought a home for his own and slung leather, the Italian nearly spoiled the latter's return to the promotion with a perfectly disguised kick to the dome that sent his foe to the canvas.

Pedersoli promptly followed Dalby to the mat in pursuit of a finish, and while he trapped the Dane in a calf slicer - of all things - Dalby managed to wiggle his way to freedom and answer the third-round bell.

As he's been wont to do, Dalby kicked off the third like a man possessed, swarming Pedersoli with flurries before closing the distance to secure a hard-fought trip takedown. Dalby spent the remainder of the frame improving position and peppering Pedersoli from top control, but his late heroics only earned him the nod on one of three scorecards.

The 33-year-old Dalby - who'd been battling depression following his release from the UFC - suffered his third straight loss on points in his promotional return.

In the bloody lightweight co-main event, Soren Bak tailored Alexander Jacobsen with a crimson mask before putting him away with an arm-triangle choke at the 4:17 mark of Round 2, then challenged Paddy Pimblett to a lightweight title bout in the latter's native Liverpool.

Speaking of blood, the bill's most gruesome scene belonged to its prelims, where welterweight Jack Mason sustained a gargantuan, grisly gash above his left eye in a first-round TKO loss to Norway's Hakon Foss:
