The UFC has added some bulk to its first event in Chile.

Former light heavyweight title challenger Volkan Oezdemir will face Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at UFC Fight Night 129 on May 19 at Movistar Arena in Santiago, the promotion announced Wednesday.

The 28-year-old earned a shot at Daniel Cormier's crown at UFC 220 in January after three straight promotional victories - including sub-minute knockouts of Misha Cirkunov and Jimi Manuwa - but ultimately fell to the champ by second-round TKO. The defeat snapped a five-fight win streak.

"Shogun" heads to Chile on a three-fight win streak, the longest of his 10-year UFC stint. The ex-champ most recently outslugged Gian Villante for a third-round TKO at UFC Fight Night 106 last March and was expected to vie for revenge against Ovince Saint Preux in September, only to bow out with a knee injury on short notice.

A main event for the May bill has not yet been disclosed.
