Report: Tuivasa re-ups with UFC on 4-fight deal

Stewart Allen / USA TODAY Sports

The UFC has locked up one of its most promising heavyweight upstarts.

Undefeated knockout artist Tai Tuivasa and the promotion have agreed to a new four-fight deal, according to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani. A June date with Andrei Arlovski at UFC 225 in Chicago will reportedly kick off the newly inked contract.

Between his fan-friendly style and his lack of filter on the mic, Tuivasa has been heralded as the next Mark Hunt after just two walks to the Octagon. The 25-year-old Sydney native joined the outfit with a bang (literally) in his hometown this past November at UFC Fight Night 121 - where he treated Rashad Coulter to a first-round flying knee KO - and then dispatched Cyril Asker with a quick TKO at UFC 221 last month.

Tuivasa will carry a perfect 7-0 record on his first trip stateside for the matchup with Arlovski, including as many first-round knockouts.
