Costa pulls out of UFC Atlantic City bout vs. Hall with biceps injury
Paulo Costa won't be joining Uriah Hall in Atlantic City.
A biceps injury will keep the UFC middleweight formerly known as "Borrachinha" from squaring off with Hall at UFC Fight Night 128 on April 21. Costa confirmed the development Tuesday on Instagram following a report from Canal Encarada.
The Brazilian told MMA Fighting's Guilherme Cruz he won't require surgery, but will have to keep out of the gym for the next six weeks. He hopes to return to action in June.
Costa's dance with Hall was never formally announced by the UFC, nor was Tuesday's development. It remains to be seen whether Hall will compete on the bill against a late replacement.
The 26-year-old Costa debuted with the UFC a year ago and has won all three of his promotional bouts by TKO. He was last seen dispatching Johny Hendricks in under two rounds at UFC 217 in November, a stoppage that improved his pro record to a perfect 11-0.
