Report: UFC looking into holding 1st event in Liverpool

Darren Till's will might soon be done.

The UFC is "seriously" looking into booking what would mark its maiden voyage to Liverpool, the surging welterweight's hometown, sources told MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani on Wednesday.

The promotion was expected to take Dublin on May 27 for a UFC Fight Night event, but sources told MMANytt's Jim Edwards that Liverpool's Echo Arena is being explored as an alternative for the date. Reasons for the potential change in plans have not been disclosed.

Should the UFC bring Till's months-long campaign to fruition, the Scouser would presumably be the front-runner to headline the bill. Till hasn't fought since October, when he stopped Donald Cerrone by first-round TKO in a breakthrough performance at UFC Fight Night 118.
