Adesanya to face Vettori at UFC Glendale
Israel Adesanya isn't showing any signs of slowing down.
The kickboxing phenom turned MMA fighter will meet Marvin Vettori in a middleweight tilt at UFC on FOX 29 on April 14 at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz., the promotion announced Friday.
Adesanya kicked off his career in four-ounce gloves with 11 knockouts in as many bouts, treating Rob Wilkinson to that same fate in the second round of his promotional debut at UFC 221 earlier this month. He makes his sophomore walk to the Octagon on just a two-month turnaround.
Vettori owns a promotional record of 2-1-1, and was last seen fighting Omari Akhmedov to a majority draw at UFC 219 in December. He's gone the distance in all but one of his fights under the outfit's banner.
UFC on FOX 29 features a lightweight main event between Dustin Poirier and Arizona native Justin Gaethje.
