Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather II may be off before it even truly started.

McGregor declared Mayweather is "out of these current fight negotiations" in an Instagram post Sunday following the undefeated boxer's dismissal of a potential rematch Saturday.

Mayweather said he "already fought Conor" while at the NBA's All-Star weekend.

The Irishman added that he is "happy for (Mayweather) in retirement" and he will carry on his own "negotiations," though he didn't specify what those were for. McGregor is expected to return to the UFC, but has also teased future boxing fights following his losing debut against Mayweather last year.

Mayweather has teased a potential move to MMA in recent weeks, but for now, it appears the draw of McGregor and the Octagon isn't enough to bring "Money" out of retirement once again.
