The first phase of Tywan Claxton's plan for 2018 is complete.

The featherweight prospect secured the first of five stoppages he aims to collect this year by pounding out Jose Antonio Perez in the second round of Bellator 194's main-card opener in Connecticut on Friday.

Claxton picked up his second finish in as many pro bouts with the dominant showing, scoring takedowns in each frame before raining unanswered shots on Perez to leave referee Keith Peterson no choice but to wave it all off at the 3:39 mark of the middle stanza.

Perez is now winless in two professional fights.
