Cyborg calls Rousey, McGregor most overrated fighters in UFC
Cris Cyborg doesn't think the hype that has surrounded Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor during their UFC careers is entirely warranted.
The women's featherweight champion identified Rousey and McGregor as the UFC's most overrated fighters while appearing on "The Domenick Nati Show" on Tuesday.
"I think you see already Ronda Rousey," Cyborg said. "Everybody thinks she is the best fighter ever, ever pound for pound, and then you see when she's fighting real fighters, she has a hard time.
"And then, McGregor. We never see him fight one guy who's really tough. I would like to see him fight 'Jacare' (Ronaldo Souza) and fight Khabib (Nurmagomedov). McGregor has a big name, but we don't know, we don't see him in real fight."
Cyborg also took issue with how Rousey and McGregor have become the faces of the UFC.
"You have to promote all the girls. All the girls make the sport great," she said. "And same thing with McGregor. All the guys make the men's MMA."
