DC unfazed by Jones' polygraph test: Serial killer Ted Bundy passed one, too

Suffice to say Daniel Cormier isn't putting much stock in Jon Jones' recently passed polygraph test.

Jones took the test last month in an effort to prove he didn't knowingly use steroid Turinabol prior to his rematch with Cormier at UFC 214, and when asked about the development during UFC 220's open workouts on Wednesday, Cormier had some choice words at the ready.

"Jon Jones took a polygraph test to prove his innocence, and I'm going to say this: Ted Bundy passed a polygraph test … and then killed the f--king guy that was giving it to him," he said.

Given the questionable reliability of polygraph tests and Jones' pair of doping violations - both of which came in relation to bouts with Cormier - the light heavyweight champ's stance, oddly worded as it may be, isn't particularly surprising. Jones was not asked to take the test by the UFC or the USADA, and its findings might not be admissible in next month's hearing with California State Athletic Commission. As a repeat offender, he could be suspended for up to four years.

The 30-year-old Jones' latest trial stems from a positive steroid test taken a day before he and Cormier ran it back this past July, one his team has attributed to a tainted supplement. Jones recaptured the title with a third-round TKO of Cormier, but he was subsequently stripped and the result overturned to a no-contest once his "B" sample came back positive. "DC" was reinstated as champion as a result, and defends the crown Saturday against Volkan Oezdemir in Boston.
