Moraes puts Sterling's lights out with knee in 1st round

Peter Casey / USA TODAY Sports

Marlon Moraes didn't leave it in the judges' hands the third time around.

After seeing his first two UFC bouts end in split verdicts, the Brazilian cleaned Aljamain Sterling's clock with a counter knee intended as a head kick just over a minute into their bantamweight bout at UFC Fight Night 123 in Fresno, Calif. on Saturday.

The former World Series of Fighting champion picked up his second straight W in the Octagon less than one month after edging John Dodson at UFC Fight Night 120, while Sterling's first career loss by stoppage snapped a two-fight win streak and brought his promotional record to 6-3.
