Someone's '0' had to go.

In a battle of undefeated middleweights, Eryk Anders submitted a dominant performance against newcomer Markus Perez for a unanimous verdict that kept his 10-fight record unblemished at Saturday's UFC Fight Night 123 in Fresno, Calif.

The 30-year-old mustered the gumption to call out former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida moments after picking up his second W in the Octagon.

Aside from a hard-fought takedown in Round 1, Perez mounted next to no offense. Anders walked him down and went headhunting with power left hands in space when he wasn't battering his body with a steady stream of knees from the clinch.

The Brazilian had nothing left for Anders by the final frame, with the former Alabama linebacker bringing him to the canvas and prolonging his misery until the final horn with ground-and-pound.

Perez - who'd stepped up to replace Welshman John Phillips - suffered his first defeat in 10 professional fights.
