Shevchenko draws newcomer Cachoeira in move to 125 lbs at UFC Belem
Valentina Shevchenko has her first UFC flyweight dance partner.
The former bantamweight title challenger will take on promotional newcomer Priscila Cachoeira at UFC Fight Night 125 on Feb. 3 in Belem, Brazil, the promotion announced Tuesday. Combate was the first to report the news.
Shevchenko, 29, went 3-2 at 135 pounds in the UFC, most recently falling short in her bid to dethrone divisional queen Amanda Nunes by split decision in their rematch at UFC 215 in September.
Cachoeira had been scheduled to make her UFC debut opposite Lauren Murphy at "The Ultimate Fighter 26" finale earlier this month, only for visa issues to keep her from making the date. The Brazilian will now make her first walk to the Octagon with eight victories in as many pro bouts, with four coming by knockout.
UFC Fight Night 125 is as of yet without a main event.
